Summer Reading Starts Now!

Registration for the 2009 Summer Reading Club is now open. You can sign up electronically at your computer -- or -- you can sign up at any of the San Antonio Public Library locations.

Summer Reading Club members receive a Reading Log on which to record the titles of books they read (or listen to).

Club members who read at least 15 books receive a Summer Reading Certificate and can select a free paperback book to keep. The first day to claim your certificate and your book is June 15. So, get started today! We want YOU to be a Summer Reader!

Is there still a reward of Baseball tickets this year? Does anyone know what the other rewards are, besides the free book?

Back in 2007, the Missions Baseball Team helped us promote summer reading by generously providing each Summer Reading "Finisher" with two free tickets to the ball game.

Unfortunately, they did not offer to supply that "prize" to us in 2008 or 2009.

This year -- children who complete the 15 book requirement receive a Reading Club Certificate and a free paperback book. Our rationale? The best reward for reading is MORE reading!

Thanks for your interest in SAPL's Summer Reading Club for kids. We hope to see you at the library soon!
