In 2009 he won the Newbery Medal (and the Hugo Award) for The Graveyard Book. The story features a boy named Nobody Owens "who would be completely normal if he didn't live in a graveyard, being raised and educated by ghosts. . ."

You can read more about Mr. Gaiman at his official website for young readers, Mr. Bobo's Remarkable Mouse Circus. The site includes a video of Neil reading chapters of The Graveyard Book and answering questions about his writing.
