Peter Sis wins the Hans Christian Andersen Award

The 2012 Hans Christian Andersen Award for Illustration goes to Peter Sis!  Originally from the Czech Republic, Mr. Sis now makes his home in the United States.  His books have been published in 30 countries and translated into 20 languages.

The Hans Christian Andersen Awards (one to an illustrator, one to a writer) are presented every other year by the International Board of Books for Young People (IBBY).  Sis was chosen from a group of thirty nominees who live and work in countries around the world.
