H.A. Rey -- creator of everyone's favorite monkey -- was born on September 17, 1898.  That means that if he was still alive today, he would be celebrating his 114th birthday!

Curious George was first published in 1941.  Mr. Rey and his wife Margaret wrote seven books about George -- but in the ensuing years -- George's character has appeared in books by other authors, in movies, cartoons, games and puzzles.  He even has his own website!
