September's Featured Illustrator: Simms Taback

Simms Taback (1932-2011) was both an author and an illustrator with over 30 children's books to his credit.

In 2000, he won the Caldecott Medal for Joseph Had a Little Overcoat.  He received a Caldecott Honor citiation in 1998 for There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Spider.

One of the interesting things you'll learn about Mr. Taback when you visit his website is that he designed the very first Happy Meal box way back in 1977!
