Celebrating E.L. Konigsburg

E.L. Konigsburg is a celebrated author of children's literature.  She won the Newbery Medal in 1968 for From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler -- and then 29 years later in 1997 -- she won the Newbery again for The View From Saturday.

Mrs. Konigsburg passed away this month -- but she will be remembered not only for her terrific books -- but for some terrific advice she offered to students who dream of becoming authors.  "Finish. The difference between being a writer and being a person of talent is the discipline it takes to apply the seat of your pants to the seat of your chair and finish. Don't talk about doing it. Do it. Finish."
