Recommended Reading: Dead City

Molly Bigelow is a brainy but awkward 7th grader who likes to hang out in morgues. After joining a group of students at her private school called the Omegas, she learns how to protect and police the undead. (They don’t like being called zombies!)  As she goes through training, Molly learns secrets about her mother and discovers that her fencing skill comes in handy when protecting both the living and the dead. Dead City by James Ponti has enough humor and mystery (along with a dash of gore) to leave middle readers dying for a sequel.
