by Annette LeBlanc Cate

Wing Nut by M.J. Auch
A heartwarming  and hopeful story of twelve-year-old Grady Flood and his mother, Lila.  When they have to relocate yet again, Lila takes a job taking care of elderly and slightly eccentric Charlie Fernwald.  Charlie is a farmer, a mechanic and a birder who loves purple martins. The question is: can Grady and Charlie find their way to friendship?  Or is friendship something Grady even wants?
