Graphic Novel Biographies

Like to read about famous people, but don’t have the time? Or maybe you just love the graphic novel format? Either way, here are some books you might not have tried yet. My current favorite graphic novel biography is El Deafo by Cece Bell, in which the author shares a little of childhood and her struggle to make new friends while she adjusts to her hearing loss and new gigantic -- at least in her eyes -- hearing aid.

If Cece Bell's story doesn't appeal to you, the Library has many others you may like more, including biographies about the great escape artist Harry Houdini, the Antarctic explorer Ernest Shackleton, and first woman pilot Amelia Earhart. If you’re hungry for more, be sure and ask a librarian on your next visit to the Library!
