Who We Are!

As their family is visiting Funland for the day, young Nellie and her brother Gus discuss all the ways that people are the same and different. They comment on gender, age, skin color, and eye shapes, among other things. In very general terms they discuss genetics—how family members resemble each other but don’t look exactly the same. Nadine Westcott’s illustrations perfectly depict all of the differences that the children discuss. Who We Are! All About Being the Same and Being Different by Robie H. Harris is a great book for early elementary age students.
