Nic Bishop is a scientist, a photographer and an author of books for children. He takes clear, crisp, close-up pictures of spiders, frogs,butterflies and other animals -- and writes books to help young readers understand the beauties and complexities of nature. He received a Sibert Honor citation in 2008 for his book on Spiders and a Sibert Medal in 2011 for Kakapo Rescue: Saving the World's Strangest Parrot.
