On Monday, January 23 the 2012 Newbery and Caldecott Award winners will be announced. You can be among the first to hear the news by visiting the American Library Association's website on Monday morning.While you are waiting to find out the titles of the new winners, you might want to read the 2011 Newbery Winner, Moon Over Manifest and enjoy the illustrations in the 2011 Caldecott Winner, A Sick Day for Amos Magee.
Of course, if both these books are already familiar to you, there are other awards to consider -- the Coretta Scott King Award, the Pura Belpre Award, the Geisel Award and the Sibert Award.
