Remy Charlip
Remy Charlip, who was well known as both a children's author/illustrator and a dancer, died on Tuesday, August 18 at the age of 83.
Among Mr. Charlip's most well-known books is Fortunately, originally published in 1964 but still available through your local library.
The book's main character, Ned, experiences a number of fortunate and unfortunate incidents on his way from New York to Florida to attend a surprise party. The simple text invites enthusiastic participation that is sure to get more and more boisterous as the story unfolds. Recommended for daytime (rather than bedtime) reading!
