Origami is the name given to the traditional Japanese art of paper folding. Origami artists transform a flat sheet of paper into a three dimensional sculpture without the use of glue or scissors.
World Origami Days began on October 24 and continue through November 11. That means you still have time to master a few origami techniques and add your folded-paper creation to this worldwide celebration.
The Origami USA website has diagrams for traditional folding -- or -- you can look on the juvenile nonfiction shelves in 736.982 for some unexpected origami ideas like Star Wars Origami or Monster Origami.
