Books have birthdays, too. And this year Eric Carle's The Very Hungry Caterpillar is 40 years old. That's right -- Carle's caterpillar first ate his way through all those goodies in 1969 -- probably before some of your parents were even born!Eric Carle himself, who has written and/or illustrated over 40 books for children, celebrates his 80th birthday this year.
