June's Featured Author: Diane Stanley

Diane Stanley is best known for her award-winning picture book biographies. She has written and illustrated biographies of Joan of Arc, Michelangelo and Shaka, King of the Zulus -- just to name a few.

But, she doesn't just write biographies! She also writes picture books -- like Saving Sweetness -- and novels -- like Bella at Midnight.

She was born in Abilene, Texas, spent much of her childhood in New York and California, but returned to Texas to attend Trinity University here in San Antonio.
