It has been just over 200 years since Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm first published their first collection of folktales. Their original collection, known as Children and Household Tales, included such favorites as Little Red Riding Hood, The Shoemaker and the Elves, Hansel & Gretel and Cinderella.
This month's electronic book shelf features some of the stories the Grimm Brothers brought to print as well as works by modern-day authors who have taken the tales as a launching pad for their own folkloric imaginings.
