Numbers Everywhere
Long before children go to kindergarten -- or even PreK -- they are busy developing an understanding of math concepts and the meanings of numbers. Through talking, singing, reading, writing and playing with numbers children can gain a wide variety of math skills in fun and easy ways.
Here are a few counting books for young children that the SAPL Children's Librarians recommend:
1 Cookie, 2 Chairs, 3 Pears by Jane Brocket
100 Hungry Monkeys by Masayuki Sebe
Abigail by Catherine Raynor
Ten Orange Pumpkins by Stephen Savage
Over in a River by Marianne Collins Berkes
Night Light by Nicholas Blechman
