Recommended Author: Eugene Yelchin
Eugene Yelchin was first recognized in the world of children's literature as an illustrator -- and a fine illustrator he is. With books like Won-Ton, Seven Hungry Babies and Who Ate All the Cookie Dough? children were introduced to his artistic talents.
More recently, however, Mr. Yelchin has brought his unique perspective as a Russian immigrant to the chapter book audience. In 2012, he received a Newbery Honor citation for Breaking Stalin's Nose. His newest book, Arcady's Goal, again takes readers to the historic era of Stalinist Russia. Both books include dramatic black & white illustrations and compellingly realistic stories of boys, their fathers and their dreams.
