Congratulations to Neil Gaiman, author of The Graveyard Book which was named the 2009 Newbery Medal winner on Monday, January 26 during the American Library Association Conference in Denver.
The Newbery Committee named four Honor Books as well:
- The Underneath by Kathy Appelt
- The Surrender Tree by Margarita Engle
- Savvy by Ingrid Lay
- After Tupac and D Foster by Jacqueline Woodson
