Everything on a Waffle

March 25 is International Waffle Day, a holiday that originated in Sweden. It is a good day to eat as many waffles as possible and to enjoy a clever and quirky book by Polly Horvath.

Everything on a Waffle is the story of Primrose Squarp, her Uncle Jack, her missing parents and the owner of a local restaurant where everything is served atop a waffle.  The book is funny but bittersweet and Primrose is a uniquely appealing character..  The book received a Newbery Honor citation in 2002.
